I have this girl friend of mine whom had been going through a lot of trials. Last time I heard from her she was definitely a mess. So when we recently had a get together and I commented on how great she looked she was like “believe you dont even know half of it!” …when i heard her story I totally could not believe my ears. To the point that she even became an alcoholic and recovered and now doesn’t even show a sign of falling apart like she stated. I was totally shocked and very impressed. Her strength and will is something to look up to. I asked her what did she do and said she first admitted to herself that she is going trough so much and that she needed help. Next step, to actually go get help from an alcoholic treatment center. Living in california is something not to be taken lightly specially with the recession on going. My friend resorted from partying and booze and ended up being addicted to the latter. If she hadn’t gotten help who knows where she’ll end up next. So we talked about her ish with the promise of sharing her story on my blog for other people to read. She honestly believes her shtory may bring light to others who are also going trough tough times. Although she preferred to stay anonymous and not have her name be disclosed.
My girl seeked helped for alcohol rehab from axis house and had been under a certain program that works out best with her schedule and interest. They have different types of treatment program that allows the seeker to focus on their treatment regimen. She preferred the branch at Palm Springs as the area is very relaxing and she doesnt really feel like being there only becuase of alcohol treatment, instead she feels more like a guest or someone on vacation.
If you have a friend who’s going trough so much just be there for them, they may not ask you for it but it does mean a lot. It shows they’re not alone. That they can always count on you to be there at time of need. Being a good friend doesn’t require you to do anything special, just be there that’s more than enough. To my lovely girl, thank you for sharing your story and entrusting me with your secrets. I love you and remember i’m just a phone call away. This blog entry is for you. xox.
